Leola Mae Hilton, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away at 7:34 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. She was born on Jan. 31, 1922, to Donald F. Scott and Nellie Mae (Armstrong) Scott. Leola served in World War II in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. While in Norfolk, Va., she met her husband Rudolph. Leola enjoyed reading and crocheting quilts and pillows. She was a Pacers, IU, ISU and Colts fan. She rarely missed a televised game.
Leola was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph L. Hilton, on March 13, 1981; her parents; and her sister, Donna Purdum. She is survived by her son, Scott L. Hilton and his wife Sonja; daughters, Rebecca L. Shettleroe and her husband Michael, Billie Jo Phillips and her husband Melvin, Trudy Lee Ruch and her husband Charles, Judy Ann Paden and her husband Craig, and Renee L. Ball and her husband Ted; and grandchildren, Lorie Shealy, Heidi Fredericks, Reagan Ruch, Becci Ruch, Liz Cook, Lindsey Ball, Ashley Hilton, Haley Hilton, Christie Crowther, and Cleta Ball.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Online condolences can be made at:
