TERRE HAUTE —
Hosie Eugene “Gene” Woolard, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Union Hospital, with family by his side. Gene was born May 17, 1933, in Sullivan County, to Dudley and Nellie Woolard.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Ann Couch; and brothers, Carl and Orvel Woolard.
Survivors include his five children, Doug Woolard (Gerri), Wanda Hughes, Tina Bell (Allen), Tammy Woolard (Robert Ellison), and Earl “Buck” Woolard; siblings, Darlene Summers, Linda Addcox, and Bud Woolard. Also, surviving are his seven grandchildren, Jeff Woolard, April Fulk, Christina Hughes, Megan Orndorff (Mike), Danielle Woolard (Nick Patterson), Nathan Bell (Crystal), and Natalie Bell; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Woolard, Lizzy Fulk, Caleb Orndorff, and Hope and Nathan Bell Jr.; special family friends, Ron Farrand and Katlin Darlington; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 3 p.m., at DeBaun Funeral Home, 85 East Springhill Drive, Terre Haute, with Mike Linville officiating. Burial will follow at Prairieton Cemetery, with military rites provided by the Vigo County War Veterans Council Honor Guard. Visitation will be noon until services Sunday at the funeral home.
