CLAY CITY — Robert L. Wellman, 81, of Clay City, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his winter residence in North Fort Myers, Fla.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Loretta Wellman; children, Robert W. Wellman (wife Cheryl), Glen Wellman (wife Jeana), John Wellman (wife Marie), and Darlena Wellman Armpriester (husband John); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and one sister, Rosemary Crouse (husband Ray).
Bob was a lifelong resident of Clay City and built hundreds of grain bins in the area, farmed for more than 50 years and also owned Wellman Company grain elevator for 19 years. After retirement, they wintered in North Fort Myers, for 12 years, where he enjoyed fishing, playing chair volleyball, attending church and visiting with friends and family.
Viewing will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Clay City Assembly of God church at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
