Josephine R. Stevenson

PIMENTO — Josephine R. Stevenson, 97, of Pimento, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, in Springhill Village. She was born in Vigo County, on Nov. 18, 1916, to Leslie Randolph and Eva Williams Randolph. She was employed as a school teacher by the Vigo County School Corporation for 44 years. She was a member of Oregon Baptist Church and the Vigo County Retired Teachers Association.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley R. Stevenson, in 1967; her brother, Wilbur Randolph; and sister, Virginia Fiddler. She is survived by two sons, Ted Stevenson of Davidson, N.C., and Lee Stevenson of Carbondale, Ill.; four grandchildren, Evie Williams, Stan Stevenson, Jennifer Meredith, and Sarah Swiney; as well as 17 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her nephew, Paul “Skip” Randolph and niece, Jo Ellen Larimer.

Graveside services will be held at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery Chapel on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Oregon Baptist Church, in her memory. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Online condolences may be left at:
