Richard A. Barnes, 88, of Terre Haute, passed away on May 21, 2013. He was born on Nov. 12, 1924 to Virgil and Thelma (Wymier) Barnes.
Richard was a supervisor for CSX railroad, and he retired after 40 years of service. Before the railroad, Richard served in the Army during WW II and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Richard is survived by his lifelong companion of 65 years, Charlotte; his son, Jeffery Barnes; two grandchildren, Lucas and Katlynn; a brother-in-law, Charles Bays; a niece and two nephews.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents; two brothers, Wayne Barnes and Loyde Barnes; a step-brother, Kenny Barnes; and a sister-in-law, Hazel Bays.
The American Legion Post 104 and the Indiana Honor Guard will be presenting military honors at Roselawn Memorial Park. Family and friends can share words of compassion for Richard at:
