Mary K. Pastore

CLINTON — CLINTON — Mary K. Pastore, 84, of Clinton, died at 1:50 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Clinton Gardens. She was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Reelsville, to John C. Donald and Faye Audrey Wood-Donald. She was employed at WalMart in Clinton for 17 years, retiring in November 2013. She also had worked at Harris Food Store, Columbia House, and volunteered with the local Republican Party, once running for auditor.

She graduated from Brazil High School in 1947. Mary loved people, especially her family and the families of her family and friends. She could cook up a meal for several in less than a half hour. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle worker and tended her hibiscus plants.

She married Marion “Mono” Pastore in 1948, he preceded her in death on July 22, 2003. She also was preceded in death by her son, Ronald “Butch” Pastore on Oct. 4, 2011; her parents; two brothers, John Donald and James Donald; and one sister, Margaret Hoskins.

Survivors include two sons, Marion “Mono” Pastore and wife Elaine of Clinton, and Donald Ray Pastore and wife Nancy of Jasonville; a daughter-in-law, Liz of New Goshen; seven grandsons, Louis of Noblesville, Kevin (Christy) of St. Louis, Jade (Robin) of Greencastle, Donald R. Pastore Jr. (Dawndee) of Shelburn, Jason (Ashley), and Justin (Jill), all of Crawfordsville, and Erik of Cordova, Ala.; three stepgrandsons, Corey (Candra) Pointer, and Nathan Pointer (Tiffany), all of Jasonville, and Brianna Harney of New Goshen; 22 great-grandchildren: two great-great-grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12 noon on Thursday Jan. 2, 2014, at Giovanini Funeral Home, with Bob Howard officiating. Burial is at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Thursday.
