Jimmie D. Holler

ROSEDALE – Jimmie D. Holler, 80, of Rosedale, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at home. He was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Vigo County near Fontanet. He was the only son of Chester W. Holler and Elizabeth Laurilla Adams Holler. He lived all his young years at the homeplace where he was born. He married his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Pruner Holler, on Aug. 20, 1953, in Bridgeton Baptist Church and she survives.

He worked in the insurance field for over 20 years. He then co-owned Holler’s Hilltop Strawberry Farm. He was very active in sports through the early years, first racing go-carts and then motorcycles. He loved hunting in Colorado and fishing in Canada.

Also surviving, one son, Kerry Dale of Terre Haute; one daughter, Kimberly Ann (Steven) Styles; seven grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Holler (Christopher) Sanders of Montezuma, Kathalene Ann Holler (Tony Varda) of South Bend, Amy Marie Holler (Dwan) Bradshaw of Jackson, Mich., Monica Lynn Styles (Sam) Christian of Terre Haute, and Steven William (Amanda) Styles of Terre Haute; extended family, Courtney Stinson (Josh) Armstrong of Crestwood, Ky., and Jefferie (Natalie ) Stinson of Terre Haute; 13 great-grandchildren, Alexander, Dwan, Andrew Bradshaw of Michigan, Taryn Christian of Terre Haute, Braedyn, Kaylee, Macie and Elyssa Styles of Terre Haute, Karsen and Grant Sanders of Montezuma, and Landon, Blake and Mason Armstrong of Crestwood; brothers-in-law, William and Wayne Pruner of Bridgeton; and sisters-in-laws, Hester (Jim) Swickard of Rosedale, Elvena Pruett of Perrysville, and Helen (Jim) Mitchell of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by one son, William Bryan; one brother, Stanley Pruner; and one sister-in-law, Judy Pruner.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, in Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 287 N. Main St., in Rosedale, with the Rev. Randy McPike officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Friends may sign an online guest register at:
