Allen Lee Zellers

DENNISON, Ill. — DENNISON, Ill. — Allen Lee Zellers, 51, of Dennison, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, in his residence. He was born Aug. 20, 1962, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Carl Zellers and Edna Newport Zellers.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Hill Zellers, whom he married July 9, 1988, in Terre Haute; three children, Ashlie Zellers Foote and husband Timothy of La Mesa, Calif., Nathan Zellers and Kayla Zellers both at home; his father, Carl Zellers; two sisters, Debbie Brown and husband Mike of Dennison, and Brenda Farrell and husband John of Martinsville, Ill.; a brother, Gary Zellers and wife Kim of West Terre Haute, Ind.; a stepbrother, Paul Matherly and wife Linda of Terre Haute; three stepsisters, Sheila Gregg and husband James, and Ruth Bedwell and husband Kenny, all of Terre Haute, and Diana Poling and husband Harry of Rosedale, Ind.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kathy and David Hill of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law, David L. Hill  II of Terre Haute; aunts and uncles, Bob and Barbara Newport of Dennison, Max and Donna Zellers of Granite City, and Charles Zellers of Peoria, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Allen was a graduate of Marshall (Ill.) High School class of 1980. He loved sports and clowning around making people laugh. He was the comedian and clown of the family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

There will be a visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. (Indiana Time) Thursday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., West Terre Haute, Ind. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. (Indiana Time) 12 noon (Illinois Time) Friday in Darwin Cemetery. in Darwin, Ill., with Pastor Bob Maskell officiating and with military rites being presented. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Allen Zellers Memorial Fund, with envelopes available in the funeral home.
