Ramona L. ‘Mona’ Patchett

Ramona L. “Mona” Patchett, 73, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2013, in Union Hospital.

Mona was born in Terre Haute on Oct. 18, 1940, to Robert Cassady and Anna Valeska Cassady. She had worked as a certified dental assistant and had been the manager of an optical lab. She was the former owner of The Americana Shoppe, a craft shop that was located in Terre Haute. She was a member of the North Terre Haute Christian Church, and enjoyed crafts, gardening, sewing and reading. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jodie Ann Railsback, in March of 2012; and a step-grandson, Matthew. She is survived by her husband, Carrol Patchett; two daughters, Dr. Lori Fuqua and her partner Amanda Brown of Marion, Ind.; and Lynda Fuqua and her partner Kate Hunter of Antioch, Ill.; six stepchildren, Tina Sumila and her husband John of Danville, Ind.; Sue Brewer of Florida; Tracey Bailey and her husband Bill of Terre Haute; Jeff Patchett and his wife Dianna of Indianapolis; Pam Edwards and her husband Chris of Terre Haute; and Danny Fuqua, also of Terre Haute. She is also survived by two sisters, Roberta Clark and her husband Jack of Seelyville; and Noell McCarty and her husband Bill of Plainfield, Ind.; a grandson, Eli Railsback and his partner Josh Patterson of Gas City, Ind.; grandchildren, Bryan, Tracie, David, Jessica, Ben, Mandi and April; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews Ronnie and Debby Clark, April and Max Hoffman, Bart Clark, Scott and Beth Streeter, and Derek and Susan Streeter.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Hatley will officiate. Burial will in Oak Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at:
