TERRE HAUTE —
Jonathan David Griffin, age 58, of West Terre Haute, and formerly of New Castle, went to be the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013. He was born in Albany, Ky., on May 7, 1955, to Finley and Eula Griffin.
Jon was an avid sports fan and spent most of his life coaching. His favorite food was cheese. Jon attended Ball State University, where he played baseball, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Science and Psychology. Jon worked more than 33 years at Cadillac Products Packaging Company, in Paris, Ill., as the plant manager. Jon was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved being an active part of his grandchildren’s lives.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Griffin; son, Dru Griffin and wife Erin of Dillon, Colo.; daughter, Erin Beeler and husband Rich of West Terre Haute; son, Cameron Griffin and companion Chelsey Reel of West Terre Haute; sister, Carol Hayes of New Castle; and grandchildren, Keegan, Piper, and Liam Beeler.
Services for Jon will be 4:30 p.m. (CDT) Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, in The CrossRoads Baptist Church, 26063 Kasameyer Drive, in Dennison, Ill., with Pastor Walter Huyck officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m (CDT) until service time Thursday, in the church. Burial will be at Dunlap Cemetery in Dennison. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Family Medical Practice Center, especially Dr. Randy Stevens and Nurse Practitioner, Beth Fields, who Jon considered his angel, and to their children, family and friends who helped them along this journey. 241, LUMTC forever.
