TERRE HAUTE —
Elder Joseph E. Minor Jr., 81, of Kokomo, passed away Sept. 26, 2013, at his residence. He was born on March 22, 1932, the son of Joseph E. Minor Sr. and Mabel Smith Minor in Terre Haute. He was a production worker at the Shadeland and Kokomo Transmission Plants of the Chrysler Corporation. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at Grace Apostolic Church in Indianapolis for over 50 years. He was a United States Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Leon A. Minor. He is survived by his four sons, Joseph Smith of Compton, Calif., Michael A. Minor of Texas, Elder Jeffrey L. Minor Sr. (Lisa) of Kokomo, and Elder Vinscent D. Minor (Yolanda) of Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Sharmaine L. Ellison (Michael) of Kokomo; stepdaughter, Shelly R. Lawrence of Kokomo; sisters, Barbara Jean Wills (John) of California and Consuella Winston of Michigan; stepsister, Elizabeth Cunningham of Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Leota Minor of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, 11 a.m. at Grace Apostolic Church, 649 East 22nd St., in Indianapolis. Pastor Ronald Thomas will be the officiant and eulogist. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery.
