William D. “Bill” Pepelea, born August 23, 1953, met with the Almighty Father on August 25, 2013, after an extended illness.
Bill graduated from Anderson High School in 1972, where he was a standout athlete in baseball and football. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1976. After graduation, he was employed at Hughes Aircraft as an engineer. He returned to Terre Haute, Indiana in 1981, where he was employed with United Parcel Service (UPS) and retired in 2008.
Bill presently owned and operated “Mr. P’s Almost Free Package Liquor” in Riley, Indiana, which he founded over 25 years ago.
He is survived by his son, Matthew W. Pepelea, who resides in California; a sister, Gwen (Paul) Frazier; and a brother, Arthur M. (Mary Jo) Pepelea Jr., both reside in Anderson, Indiana; brother-in-law, Larry D. Clark; and many nieces and nephews. Bill also is survived by his former wife, Deborah J. Pepelea; life-long friends, Tommy “TR” Roberts and Steve “Ratt” Jones; along with many friends and loyal customers he had during his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur M. Pepelea Sr.; mother, Wilma Pauline Pepelea; brother, Jett D. Pepelea; and sister, Robin L. Pepelea-Clark.
He was a loving father, brother, mentor, coach, and friend.
