MARSHALL, Ill. —
MARSHALL, Ill. — Ryan Thomas Ashcraft, 27, of Marshall, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Union Hospital, in Terre Haute, Ind. Ryan was loved by all who knew him and was able to teach others that a child with special needs can teach others to love, show affection and appreciate life to its fullest. In his own special way, others learned so much about what life can be about. He was born Aug. 19, 1985, in Sullivan, Ind., the son of Tom Ashcraft and Pamela Chastain Ashcraft.
Surviving are his mother, Pam (David) McConchie of Marshall; his father, Tom (Kate) Ashcraft of Marshall; his brother, Matthew (Coratnee) Ashcraft of Marshall; a nephew, Logan Ashcraft; grandmothers, Helen McCammon of Sullivan, Virginia Ashcraft of Sullivan; stepsiblings, Connor McConchie, Wyatt McConchie, Noah Hollingsworth and Jessie Hollingsworth. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Albert Chastain, Henry Debbs and George McCammon.
Services in honor of his life will be 2 p.m. CDT Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall, with the Rev. Krista Price of the Armstrong United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 12 noon until service time Sunday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital, in Indianapolis.
