She was born on Dec. 11, 1936, in Winchester, Ind., to Marval “Smiley” Pifer and Juanita Younger Pifer, who passed away during childbirth.  She was raised by her grandmother, Crella Mae Pifer in Oaktown, where she graduated in 1955.

Helen worked for many years for Bob McClelland Chrysler in Terre Haute, working at Robinson Floor Covering, where she retired from. After retiring, Helen became a caregiver for her in-laws, Walter and Eileen Campbell. She loved helping people and was loved by many.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staff at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Vista Care Hospice, and family friend and Dr. C. Lim.
