TERRE HAUTE — Roger L. Davies, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Fredericksburg, Texas, at the age of 78. He was born in Beloit, Wis. Aug. 12, 1934, to Eva Andrews Davies and Charles M. Davies. He was married July 18, 1959 to Karen Manley, and she survives. He was predeceased by his parents.

He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Platteville. He was an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow and former Scoutmaster of Troop 3 in Terre Haute. He owned and operated Davies Foundry in Terre Haute for several years. He was past president of the 100 Club of Gillespie County in Fredericksburg, a member of Masonic Lodge 794, Scottish Rite and Zorah Shrine. He was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling, both in this country and other places such as Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, and touring the Amazon River.

Survivors include a daughter, Lucia Hilton, Evansville; sons, Dwight Davies (wife Adrienne) and Chris Davies (wife Sally), both of Terre Haute; and brother, Robert, Rockton, Ill.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., in Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg. His ashes will be scattered on his property near Fredericksburg as he requested. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to 100 Club of Gillespie County, PO Box 2951, Fredericksburg, TX 78624; Boy Scouts of America; Memorial Presbyterian Church 601 N.
