James E. Mattox

CLINTON — CLINTON — James E. Mattox, 60, of Clinton, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on March 29, 2013, in Union Hospital Terre Haute. He was born on April 11, 1952, in Cook County, Ill., to Clarence Mattox and Patsy Goff Mattox. He had worked in retail sales and photography.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Mattox; and a sister, Phyllis McDowell. He is survived by his mother, Patsy Goff of Terre Haute; three sisters, Dianna and Michael Compton of Arizona, Sheila Mattox of California, and Adina Bauer of Texas; two brothers, Charlie and Kristin Mattox of Texas, and Forrest Thompson of Terre Haute; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Nikita.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Frist Funeral Home 458 Blackman St., in Clinton. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sugar Grove Cemetery with Bob Howard officiating. Online condolences can be made at:
