Thelma C. Capobianco, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 16, 1925, in Dugger, to Cecil and Julia (Russell) Butler. She married Cosmo John Capobianco on May 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and together they raised three children, Catana Capobianco, Charles Stanley Capobianco, and Lisa Peek.
Thelma was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness for many years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting, cooking, gardening, and learning history. Her family and her faith were important parts of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cosmo; and her brother, Norman Butler.
She is survived by her children; sisters, Hazel Butler and Edna (Sant) Johnson; and her sister-in-law, Sarah Butler, all of Lebanon, Ohio. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Thomas Funeral Home, 2200 N. 13th St. A funeral ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home, with Brother Jerry Boyll officiating. Burial will follow on Monday at Second Prairie Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at:
