Martha P. Fletcher, 92, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at home after a period of declining health. She was born May 14, 1920, in Camden, Ill., to LuLu and Orren Gillenwater. Martha married Harry Fletcher, and they remained together until his death on Nov. 4, 1980.
While her husband was serving active duty in World War II, Martha volunteered to work his position with the Pennsylvania Railroad. She will be remembered as a lovely, understanding wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many. She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Gayle, Oras, Orren and King, and four sisters, Elleone Donnelly, Mary Welty, Delphine Learned and Wava Zednick. She has also lost two loving grandchildren, Marcie Boysen and Jonathon McDonald. Martha will be missed very much and always be held close at heart to family and friends; may she find peace and happiness with her Lord.
Survivors Include son, Roger Fletcher: daughter, Sheila McDonald; grandchildren, Roger K. Fletcher, Leslie Duniphan, Brooke Osborn, Marti Michelle Trout and Matthew McDonald; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers at Southern Care Hospice and those at Cloverleaf Healthcare. They also wish to thank her doctor, Dr. Craig Johnson, for his care and concern! His dedication of service provided family with much-needed support.
