TERRE HAUTE —
James L. Christopher, 81, of Dunnellon, Fla., and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in Florida. Jim worked for many years for the Internal Revenue Service. He was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Terre Haute, to James H. Christopher and Elsie L. (Mathews) Christopher.
He is survived by his wife, LaDonna J. (Etchison) Christopher; daughter, Deborah L. Farrar and her husband Fred of Carmel; son, James A. Christopher and his wife Kim of Plainfield; grandchildren, Leslie N. Christopher, James E. Christopher, Ryan C. Stokes, Magen Farrar, Sarah Smith, Samantha Smith, and Stuart Smith; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Bryant, Ramona Lefler, and Madonna Johnson, all of Terre Haute; aunt, Gladys Cox of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Raymond Robertson and Ronnie Robertson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served and wounded during the Korean War. Jim was a member and Past Master of West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge 687 Free & Accepted Masons, Zorah Shrine, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 1529, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. in Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave., with a Masonic service at 1 p.m. conducted by West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge 687. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be left at:
