Robert R. Agnew Sr.

TERRE HAUTE — Robert R. Agnew Sr., 76, of West Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, in his residence. He retired as a construction manager with Freitag-Weinhardt, Inc. in Terre Haute after many years of service. He was born April 14, 1937, in Chicago, to Noble N. “Jack” Agnew and Dorothy Hartman Agnew.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Frankie J. Hedger Agnew, whom he married on June 28, 1958 in Chicago; three sons, Robert R. Agnew Jr. and his wife Julie of Paris, Ill., Rickie A. Agnew of West Terre Haute, and Gregory D. Agnew and his wife Donna of San Marcos, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Travis Agnew and his wife Jessica, Kristin Schalburg and her husband Rob, Robert R. Agnew III, Abby Agnew, Jeffrey Agnew, Ryan Agnew, and Trayce Agnew; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Villanova of Oaklawn, Ill.; a brother, Richard Agnew of Chicago; a half brother, Johnny Bill Agnew and his wife Cheryl of Indianapolis; a stepsister, Molly Bar of Indianapolis; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Ann Agnew of Hobart, Ind., and Wanda Cowin of Plainfield, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Ed Gonski; his grandson, Rickie Agnew Jr.; and a brother, Chuck Agnew.

Bob was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He also was  a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 157, and an honorary life member of the Vocational Trades Board for Vigo County School Corporation for overseeing the construction of the local high schools and other various construction sites, and he was an avid Chicago Bears fan.  

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 6076 U.S. Highway 150, in West Terre Haute, with Pastor Colleen Harden officiating. Cremation has been scheduled after all services. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., in West Terre Haute and also from 12 noon until service time Wednesday in the church. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church Building Fund with envelopes available in the funeral home and the church.

Alice Jean Green

Alice Jean Green, 54, of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday June 26, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Sept. 25, 1958, in Terre Haute.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Justin Rogers of Terre Haute; her mother, Dorothy Shuman of Terre Haute; a grandchild, Emerie Rogers; her boyfriend and companion, Mike Schrader of Carbon; a brother, John King Jr. “Butch” of Terre Haute; a sister, Kay Rickard of Terre Haute; her best friend, Louann Archer; her former husband and friend, Jim Lewis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death  by her father, John King Sr.; her stepfather, Dick Shuman; and a brother, Orville Lloyd “Rusty” King.

Cremation has been scheduled with burial of her ashes at a later date in Bethesda Cemetery. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, in West Terre Haute, assisted with the arrangements.
