CLAY CITY —
CLAY CITY — Norma R. Staley, 79, of Clay City, passed away April 4, 2013, in Versailles, Ky., where she had been living for the past two years. She was born July 25, 1933, to Arthur and Frances (Sendmeyer) Meyer. A graduate of Bowling Green High School in 1951, she was her class president. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed by Clay Community Schools as a librarian and teacher’s aide at Clay City Elementary for 34 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 2006, with whom she enjoyed 53 years of marriage; a sister, Francella Royer; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Staley.
Her survivors include two sons, Randy Staley of Clay City, and Rick Staley (Melessia), Mount Juliet, Tenn.; and two daughters, Rita May (Don), Versailles, Ky., and Rhonda Rasor (James) of Avon; along with 14 grandchildren; a sister, Doris Romas of Brazil; brother-in-law, John Staley (Nancy) of Coal City; and sister-in-law, Sue Grafe (John) of Clay City.
She was a member of the Clay City Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Monday, April 7, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Brother Scott Wiley officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
