BRAZIL, Ind. —
Wanda L. Walker, 78, of Brazil, died March 31, 2013, at 11:44 a.m. at St. Vincent Clay Hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Clay County, the daughter of Otis and Pearl Brown Reed. She attended Brazil High School and always enjoyed going to her class reunions. On Dec. 15, 1949, Wanda was united in marriage to John Walker. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2010.
Wanda worked at CBS in the press room for several years, retiring in 1982. She has been a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and volunteered at St. Vincent Clay Hospital. Wanda enjoyed playing Bridge and Euchre, was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a friend held in deep regard by many ladies of Clay County.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Melanie Walker; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tim Timberman; grandchildren, Kim and Rob Carter, Jennifer and Shaun Cook, Eric and Shandra Walker, and Holly and Ryan Lee; great-grandchildren, Kade Carter, Ellie Carter, Calen Cook, Chloe Cook, Audrey Lee; one brother, Paul Reed; one sister, Helen Latham; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnny; and one brother, Otis “Junie” Reed.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m., at Lawson-Miller Chapel, with Pastors Bob Nevins and Ernie Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Thursday prior to services. Light a candle in her memory at:
