Thelma Rosalie Morse, 93, formerly of Lewis, passed away at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was born in Vigo County, Ind., Nov. 4, 1919, the daughter, of Ocie Hix and Vern Cleghorn Hix.
Thelma was a long time member of the Lewis United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Edgar “Muggs” Morse in 1982; one brother, Max Hix; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Madru Morse.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Morse (Judy) of Shelburn, and Larry Morse (Robin) of Brazil; one sister, Norma Jean Ricketts of Pimento; four grandchildren, Bobbi Ann Morse, Greg Morse, Lesa Bourdon, and Kevin Morse; and three great-grandchildren, Evan, and Joe Bourdon, and Brayden Morse.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Lewis United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Interment will follow at Stephens Cemetery in Lewis. Friends may call at the church from 12:30 p.m. until services Friday. Arrangements were entrusted to Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan.
