Ronald Dean Richey

MARSHALL, Ill. — Ronald Dean Richey, age 73, of Marshall, passed away at 4:26 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at his home. He was born Dec. 31, 1939, in Edgar County, to Clarence and Pearl (Reedy) Richey. He married Evelyn Noyes on Aug. 24, 1959, in Marshall.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one son, Dale Eugene (Diana) Richey of Highland; four daughters, Marsha Annette Richey of Gainesville, Fla., Teresa Lynn Tew of Rayford, N.C., Jan Elaine (Scott) Strohm of Mount Holly, N.C., and Rhonda DeAnn (Craig) Manship of Palestine; one brother, Darrell Richey of Marshall; six grandchildren, Matthew (Diana) Richey, Travis Richey, Erin Richey, Jodi (Kevin) George, Jami Karen, and Peyton Stevenson; and four great-grandchildren, Kalina Richey, Madison Wilkes, Cooper George and Bryton George.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was retired from Simonton Windows in Paris. He was a former City of Marshall employee for nine years. Also worked for Clark County Metal, farmed for 28 years, and served as Wabash Township Road Commissioner for nine years. He was a member Armstrong United Methodist Church, and was an avid ISU basketball  fan. Fishing was his passion, gardening and canning were his hobbies, and in recent years he took up crafting.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. CST Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Pearce Funeral Home, with the Revs. David Deal and Krista Price officiating. Burial will follow in Livingston Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, and 7 a.m. until service time Tuesday. For those so desiring memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
