JASONVILLE — Barry Hubbell, 61, of Jasonville, went peacefully to meet the Lord in his sleep, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center in Jasonville. He was born on Oct. 14, 1952, in Linton, to Roy and Martha Jane (Griffith) Hubbell.
Barry was a licensed embalmer/funeral director for 35 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of Lawton Street Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Hubbell of Indianapolis and Samantha (KC) Crane of Midland; one grandson, Kingston Crane; his mother, Martha Jane Hubbell of Vicksburg; two brothers, Jimmie (Carol) Hubbell of Linton and Jerry (Linda) Hubbell of Mesquite, Nev.; one sister, Karen (Gene) Petry of Linton; nieces, Debra Keller, Kathy Herndon, Jennifer Cunningham and Julie Clark; nephew, Jeff Hubbell; and great-nieces, great-nephews, and many close friends.
Barry was preceded in death by his father (1985); one daughter, Jessica Hubbell (1999); and one granddaughter, Adrienne Hubbell (1999).
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Barry’s memory to the Jasonville Public Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, in Linton, with Brother Josh Hubbell officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
