Charles C. Lowery

Charles C. Lowery, 68, of Venice, Fla., and formerly of Terre Haute, died at 6:54 p.m. Jan. 1, 2007, in Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice. He was a property manager in Venice. He was born April 6, 1938, in Terre Haute to Norman C. Lowery and Edna Conover Lowery.

He is survived by two sons, Charles C. Lowery and wife Laura of El Dorado Hills, Calif., and James Lowery and wife Renee of Faribault, Minn.; two daughters, Charlotte Pallang and husband Timothy of Litchfield, N.H., and Rose Mustari and husband J.R. of Venice; one brother, Norman L. Lowery and wife Sally of Terre Haute; one half brother, James Lowery and wife Oga; two half sisters, Tresea Cousert and husband John, and Jeanie Marshe and husband Chris; grandchildren, Thomas Swearingen, Cheri Warren, James D. Lowery, Sierra Lowery, Alexander Lowery and Samantha Torres; two great-granddaughters, Brittany Warren and Julia Swearingen; one great-grandson, Jacob Warren; a niece, Christine Lowery; a nephew, Norman D. Lowery and wife Britt; a great-niece, Elizabeth Lowery; and a great-nephew, Forrest Lowery. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He also had worked for AT&T; Longlines as a regional safety supervisor. He moved to Venice in 1978. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Venice, and was past president of Florida Manufactured Housing Association. He was a baseball coach and a Scout leader. He loved to go fishing

Services are 2 p.m. today in Mattox-Ryan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Herb officiating. Burial is in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is noon until services today. Memorial contributions may be made to Gerstmeyer High School Scholarship Fund, c/o Wabash Valley Community Foundation, 2901 Ohio Blvd., Suite 153, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
