Marilyn S. Jividen Abel

SHELBURN —  Marilyn S. Jividen Abel, 65, of Shelburn, passed away Sept. 8, 2013, in her residence. Marilyn was born in Terre Haute, on May 18, 1948, to Richard Earl Kirkpatrick and Grace Irene Kehoe Kirkpatrick. Marilyn retired from Union Hospital where she was a medical secretary for more than 25 years, after retirement Marilyn worked at AP&S in oncology.

She was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping, yard sales, Country and Western Music, reading, travel and most importantly she loved her family and Christmas. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Rita Wilson; and her niece, Lisa Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Abel; a son, Jerry Jividen and wife Debra of Terre Haute; two daughters, Julie Jividen of Terre Haute, and Brandy Lee Hicks of Rockville; one sister, Gloria Stamper of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law, Greg Abel and wife Marilyn of Sullivan; two sisters-in-law, Mary Newbolt of Toledo, Ohio, and Ruth Glasgow of Seelyville; 11 grandchildren, Joey, Ashley, Billy, Lexie, Jamie, Cierra, Debra, Courtney Alyssa, Dylin and Chris; nieces, Michelle Swiger and Sherry Keith; nephews, Michael Stamper, Kenny, David and Tony Able; as well as other nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her former husband, Jule Jividen.  

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., in Terre Haute. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society of Indiana, envelopes will be available at the funeral Home.
