MARSHALL, Ill. — George Burton Lee, age 86, of Marshall, and formerly of Martinsville, Ill., passed away at 1:02 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. He was born on Aug. 31, 1927, in Livingston, Ill., to George Washington Lee and Mary (Blair) Lee. He married Rita Goodwin on June 8, 1951, in Indianapolis, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 2001. He was a retired supervisor for Velsicol Chemical Corporation and a farmer.
Mr. Lee is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Perisho and her husband Terry of Martinsville, and Pamela Kadow and her husband Roger of Springfield, Ill.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Bernard, and Glen.
He was a member of Clark County Post 90 of the American Legion, and an avid hunter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at noon CDT at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall, with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in rural Clark County, Ill., with military graveside rites by Clark County Post 90 of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975.
