Robert Burns Denny, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, in Meadows Manor North. Bob had retired from Indiana State University and had previously worked at CBS. He was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Terre Haute, to George Denny and Maudie (Ross) Denny.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Mary (Gallion) Denny; a daughter, Janet Lynn Thompson and her husband Jim of Terre Haute; nieces, Rita Miller and Jeanie Kay Rebman; nephews, George Thornton, Danny Thornton and his wife Renea, Michael Thornton and his wife Leisa, Jerry Wayne Denny and his wife, and Perry Ray Denny and his wife; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Thornton and Wilma Tindall. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Ross Denny, Perry Denny, and George Denny.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War, a member of Kriestenstein American Legion Post 104 and he attended Eighth Ave. Baptist Church. Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, from 10 until 11 a.m. in DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Ave. Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave., with funeral services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Dick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors being provided by Kriestenstein American Legion Post 104. Online condolences may be left at:
