Jeffrey Wayne Davis

TERRE HAUTE — Jeffrey Wayne Davis, 44, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Shea Hospital in Scottsdale, Ariz. after a six-year battle with colon cancer.

Jeff was born on Aug. 18, 1968, in Terre Haute, Ind. He moved to Gilbert, Ariz., in 2005. He graduated with a degree in criminology from Indiana State University in 1992. Jeff served as a police officer for 13 years in Terre Haute, and several years with the Apache Junction PD in Arizona.

In addition to being an avid motorcycle rider and racer, his other hobbies included paintball, skydiving and flying. Jeff was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and an alumni of Sigma Phi Epsilon from Indiana State. He had a strong patriotic commitment and prided himself as a great American. Jeff’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Jeff was an avid animal lover and he left behind his two dogs Ellie and Pepper.

Jeff is survived by his mother Betty Pence; stepfather, Ralph Pence; and his sister, Lisa Gayle Davis.

Memorial Services will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at the Rod & Gun Steak House at 2525 E. Lambert Ave., Rosedale, Ind.
