Blanche Louise Law

BRAZIL — It was a warm misty spring evening in Texas, April 3, 2014, when Blanche Louise Law left this world as gracefully as she walked upon it in life. Born Blanche Louise Hardesty in Carbon, Indiana on May 9, 1923, she now lives on in the hearts of her extensive family and friends. Blanche lived for many years beyond the passing of her beloved husband, David Law. Together they raised five children: Vickie Lawhorn, David Law, Pamela Hopkins, Danetta Lilly, and Regina Keen. Blanche will always be remembered for her love of living, vivid amounts of energy, and desire to meet new friends.

Blanch Law endlessly enjoyed her time with her friends and being Queen Mother of the Brazil Chapter of the Red Hats Club – the Brazil Divas. She was also energetically involved in the Forest Park Golf Club and the Terre Haute Accounting Club, and charitable organizations such as the Treasure of Friends for the Brazil Library and the Injured Veteran’s Association. Blanche was also a member of the First Christian Church in Brazil, Indiana. Always ready to come to the aid of someone in need, organize a party, or make a list of chores to be done, Blanche was quick to get involved and help to make a difference. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, hosting tea parties, sewing and knitting, and traveling the world. Blanche lived her life to the absolute fullest up until her final days. Her last days were spent in the arms of her loving family, and she will be forever remembered for her unwavering energy and robust endurance.

Blanche is survived by her grandchildren: David Hall, Jerry Lawhorn, Winston Ackers, Linda Lawhorn, Brian Pierce, Chris Keen, Eric Keen, Drew Pierce, Selah Tacconi, Matt Law, Jennifer Griffin, Sara Altuna, Chris Law, Lori Margason, Dan Law, and Andrew Law. She will live on through the lives and actions of her 34 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Please join her family and friends in celebrating her life and honoring her memory at Lawson – Miller Chapel on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and Monday, April 14, 2014 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for visitation, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM on April 14, 2014.  Entombment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. To light a candle in her memory visit:
