Marietta Slack, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Exceptional Living Center, in Brazil. She was born March 13, 1929, in Brazil, to Robert and Liddie Thompson. Marietta graduated from Van Buren High School, and worked for Godfreys Butcher Shop and Pillsbury. She enjoyed fishing, was a member of Community Missionary Church and was a life member of the Van Buren Homemakers, and Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her sisters Roberta Biggs and Rose Marie Eldridge Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, George “Bill” Slack; daughters, Nancy (Chuck) Ploch of Brazil, and Terry (Robert) DeCamp of Reelsville; sister, Norma (Tom) Wallace of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Tammy (Brent) Rollings, Christy (Chris) Mayfield, Jana (Eric) Yeley, Robert Andrew DeCamp, Amy (Michael) McKain, and William Tyler DeCamp; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home, with Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. The family will accept friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Missionary Church. Online condolences may be expressed at:
