Earnest Lee Wells

TERRE HAUTE — Earnest Lee Wells, 84, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Hymera, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Hymera on March 7, 1929, to Lewis and Elizabeth (Plew) Wells. Lee was a 1947 graduate of Hymera High School, was retired from Pfizer, a 50-year member of Hymera Masonic Lodge 588 Free & Accepted Masons, and a member of Hymera Eastern Star 289. He enjoyed his family and time on the lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Norma Dale Nash. Survivors include his wife and the love of his life for 66 years, Margie (Beasley) Wells; two sons and their wives, Richard L. Wells (Kathy) of Mooresville and Gregg Wells (Sandi) of Hymera; a brother, Earl and his wife Margaret of Hymera; grandchildren, Todd Wells of Bloomington, Scott Wells of Indianapolis, Carrie Kennett of Farmersburg, Tracy Calvert of Heritage Lake, Tricia Andrew of Brownsburg, and Heather McCoskey of Farmersburg; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jeremey Wells, Nolan Kinnett, Jessica Wells, Bryana Calvert, Kenzith and Lanee Andrew, Sean Davis, and Mia and Malee McCoskey.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Holmes Memorial Chapel, in Sullivan, with the Rev. Mike Julian officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hymera.
