Rosemarie Dryer

CLAY CITY — CLAY CITY — Rosemarie Dryer, 64, died Jan. 6, 2014, due to unforeseen health issues.

She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on Feb. 17, 1949, the daughter of Sylvester G. and Marie J. Mader. Rosemarie attended Oldenburgh Academy in Batesville, Ind., during her freshman and sophomore years, and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Indianapolis in 1967. She worked at L.S. Ayres as a bookkeeper, and at Uncle Hanks in Brazil as a waitress. More recently she and her husband Pete owned and operated the Boot Doc in Clay City until 1997, when she began working as a medical transcriptionist.

She married Pete Dryer on May 11, 1968; he preceded her in death in 2009.

She was a longtime leader with the 4-H rabbit club; she enjoyed working on computers, sewing and spending time with her dogs and grandkids.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Mader.

Survivors include five children, Angie Freeman and husband Bob of Clay City, Jessica Gorby of Shelburn, Mark Dryer of Terre Haute, Maggie Dryer of Clay City, and Jennifer Bailey and husband William of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Erin Freeman, Collin Dryer and Mackenzie Dryer; siblings, Father Joseph Mader of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Dave Mader and wife Judy of Parkersburg, W.V.; Kathleen Dryer and husband Michael of Indianapolis; Michael Mader and wife Sheryl of Spencer, Ind.; and Steven Mader and wife Lynn of Cataract, Ind.; and two beloved dogs, Cooper and Jozie; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
