Delores Marie Rodgers Myers Haddon

BRAZIL — Delores Marie Rodgers Myers Haddon, 82, of Brazil, passed away at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, on Dec. 31, 2013. She was born May 22, 1931, in Knightsville, the daughter of Ross and Altha (Vandiever) Rodgers. Delores graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1948. She married Howard Myers on  Aug. 22, 1947; he passed away on Dec. 17, 1995. She had worked with her mother at the Silver Star Restaurant, in Brazil, for a short period of time. She also worked at Clay County Courthouse in the auditor’s office for several years. Finally, Delores worked at Riddell National Bank, as the head teller, for 23 years, retiring in 1994.  

Delores married Harold Haddon on Dec. 3, 1999. Together they enjoyed traveling across the United States and spending time with their family.

Delores was a devoted member of McKinley Hill Church of Christ. She also was a wonderful homemaker, flower gardener and cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Howard Myers. She is survived by her husband, Harold Haddon of Brazil; a daughter, Brenda Myers Moody and husband Rory of Fairland; stepchildren, Debra Lynn Brannon and husband Don of Brazil, Suzanne Wefler and husband Mark of Colorado, and John M. Haddon and wife Terri of Brazil; grandchildren, Sara Moody and Lyndsey Moody; stepgrandchildren, Amber, Steven, Autumn, Clint, Ted Earl and Allie; a sister, Loretta Kirchner of Brazil; cousins, David, Dianne, Darla, and Denise; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Myers; and Eva J. Myers and a cousin, Rhonda Carter; as well as several extended family members.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., in Brazil, Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McKinley Hill Church of Christ, 10700 N County Rd 300 E., Brazil, IN 47834.    To light a candle in her memory, visit:
