Mrs. Porter was active in the Golden Age HCE Group at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, where she had resided for the past five years. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener who did all of her tilling by hand. She was a talented quilter and also loved hosting family dinners in her home. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her candor and sense of humor, her loving care for animals, and for eating dessert first.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Pleasant Meadows Christian Village Activities Fund or to the Edgar County Animal Shelter.
