CLINTON — Barbara A. Daugherty, 80, of Anderson, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Clinton, the daughter of the late Charles and Geraldine (Craft) Curry. She was a 1950 graduate of Hillsdale High School and valedictorian of her class. She moved to Anderson in the early 1950s, was a homemaker and at one time worked for K-Mart. Barbara was a member of Pendleton First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vaughn and Julia Daugherty of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one granddaughter, Jilliann (Joshua) Short of Yorktown; one sister and one brother, Christina Sizelove of Pendleton and Jimmy (Barbara) Dunn of Clinton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lucille Turner of Terre Haute, Nelda Nelson of Carmel, Dorothy Lovell of Ormond Beach, Fla., Dr. Forest (Marsha) Daugherty of Columbus, and Bill (Becky) Daugherty of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn E. Daugherty; a daughter and a son, Loretta Lynn Daugherty Armstrong and Kevin B. Daugherty; and four brothers, Bill Curry, Don Dunn, Fred Dunn and Jerry Dunn.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Terre Haute, with the Rev. Bernard Jackson officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 East 53rd St., in Anderson, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to Pendleton First United Methodist Church.
