HILLSDALE — Anita L. Killion, 59, of Hillsdale, passed away at 8:14 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Union Hospital Clinton. She was born in Sullivan, on Aug. 1, 1953, to Johnnie Rogers Sr. and Mary D. Austin Rogers. She had worked as a UPC clerk at Walmart in Clinton since 1987.
Anita is survived by her husband, Mark E. Killion Sr.; two sons, Mark E. Killion Jr. and wife Peggy, and Chad E. Killion and wife Stacy; one brother, Johnnie Rogers Jr. and wife Georgia; one sister, Judi Boyd-Horndasch and husband Ron; eight grandchildren, Bryce, Isaiah, Ashton, Gabe, and Graedon Killion, Madason Merritt, and Austin and Allen Menser; special friend, Pat Webster; and several nieces and nephews. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Karen Rogers; and her beloved father and mother-in-law, Cecil Everett and Barbara Jean Killion.
She attended the Life Center Church in Terre Haute. Anita considered her most important role to be a gentle and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and special in her home, where she and Mark hosted many July 4th celebrations that attracted family and friends for years. She adored and loved caring for her grandchildren and that love and adoration was returned tenfold. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, in Terre Haute, with the Rev. Tim Minks officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Terre Haute. Visitation is scheduled for today from 4 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at:
