Martha Jane Salyers

TERRE HAUTE — Martha Jane Salyers, 68, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Countryside Meadows in Avon. She was born April 23, 1944, in Terre Haute, to Hershel and Dorothy (Roberts) Tatlock. She married Norton “Don” Salyers on Feb. 3, 1972. Martha was a graduate of Garfield High School. She had worked at Columbia Records in the customer service department. Martha was a member of Maplewood Christian Church. She enjoyed crafts and playing bingo.

Martha is survived by her sons, Fabian Bicard and Thomas Salyers, both of Farmersburg; a daughter, Donna Salyers of Terre Haute; a stepson, Clifford Salyers of Terre Haute; a stepdaughter, Patty Rentchler of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Fabian Bicard, Michaela Bicard, Tori Green, and Randy Salyers; stepgrandchildren, Brittany Rentchler, Katie Rentchler, Aaorn Rentchler, and Desirae Rentchler; a sister, Vickie Tatlock of Terre Haute; brothers, Calvin Tatlock of Terre Haute, Garry (Becky) Tatlock of Universal, and Frankie Earl “Butch” Simmons of West Terre Haute; best friend, Mary Wells; and many nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and daughter, Brenda Bicard-McGowan.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 2200 N. 13th St. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Craig Wininger officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at:
