TERRE HAUTE — Edith Bolin, of West Terre Haute passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born Edith Louise Moss on May 26, 1922. She was 91 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Bolin Sr., whom she married on March 26, 1940; her grandson, Jimmy Bolin; her brother, Arthur Ray Moss; and her parents, Arthur and Hilda Moss. She is survived by her family, who loved her very much and will miss her terribly, Dexter and Donna Bolin; Matthew Bolin, Benjamin, Kim, and Gavin Bolin, James and Beverly Bolin, Eric, Shelly, Audrey, and Jacob Bolin, Sue (Bolin) Edwards and Shannon Edwards, Michael and Kristy Bolin, Amanda Bolin, Joshua, Alicia, Andrew and Cara Bolin, Errol Bolin, Erin Bolin, and Brianna Bolin, Ian Bolin, Errol “Budgie” Bolin, Kimberly Sue and William Shaw, Keith Shaw, and Dylan Kernstein.

Edith was an amazing woman, who made tremendous personal sacrifices for her family and loved ones. She always showed care and compassion for others, placing the needs of others above herself. The perfect example of unconditional love. She was a great cook and well known for her fried chicken, cookies, and candy. She had a love for nature, especially plants, flowers, and birds. Edith lived a long and full life and touched many people in the process. Her memory will live on in the children she raised.

There will be a celebration of life service for Edith at 12 noon on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 6076 U.S. Highway 150, in West Terre Haute with Pastor Colleen Harden officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time in the church. Burial will be at a later date in Dunlap Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the service. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, West Terre Haute, assisted her family with the arrangements.
