Eunice Burnadine Lundy Richey Dalton

CLAY CITY —  Eunice Burnadine Lundy Richey Dalton, 92, of Clay City, went to be with the Lord, Dec. 24, 2013, at her home. She was born April 14, 1921, in Sullivan County, Ind., the daughter of Joe and Margaret (Rehmel) Lundy. Burnie graduated from Coalmont High School at the age of 16, the youngest in her class.

Amongst several other places she had worked at the Clay City Growers Coop and retired from First National Bank and Trust, now BMO Harris Bank, after 221⁄2 years of service.  

On Feb. 22, 1942, she married Kenneth Richey, who preceded her in death in 1960. On Nov. 28, 1976, she married the love of her life, Clifford C. Dalton, who also preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2011. She also was preceded in death by her father and mother; five sisters; and one brother.

She was a faithful member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church and worked in the church until her health failed, but still attended until her death.

She is survived by five nieces, Mary Weaver and husband Jack, Carmon Burris and husband Bill, Reda Carrico and husband John, Retha Scroggins and husband Don, Diane Ellis and husband Alan; and many more wonderful friends and relatives.

Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Ken Cofmann and Jason Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Sunday, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 4624 S.
