Annetta Jean Rector

CLAY COUNTY — Annetta Jean Rector, 71, of Clay County, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 21, 2013. She was born on Aug. 22, 1942, to Gordon and Maxine (Miller) McGee, of Marshall, Ind.

Annetta graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1960. She then graduated from Indiana State University with a master’s degree in education. She made a difference in the lives of children with special needs for 36 years in Clay and Vigo County Schools. She married Jim Rector on Aug. 11, 1972. Annetta had a true passion for her family, gardening, animals, reading and music. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon McGee; as well as her mother, Maxine McGee.  

Annetta is survived by her husband, Jim Rector; sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Charlie Hinshaw; son, Lon Rector; daughter and son-in-law, Marcey and David Moore; son, Rob Rector; grandchildren, Hanna Moore, Matthew Moore, and Logan Rector and wife Mariah; great-granddaughter, Zylee Rector; as well as many extended family members.

Memorial services will be held at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, in Clay City, Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Brother Don Perry officiating. Friends and family are welcome to gather from noon until time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
