She was born April 18, 1933, in Center Point, the daughter of John H. and Mary Boyll Wehrmeyer.  She attended school in Poland and later attended school in Staunton. She started working at Sears Roebuck  and  Company in Terre Haute at age 18 and continued her employment there for 30 years. She was manager of Sears catalog department. She was born Oct. 25, 1931 in Valdosta, Ga., to Leroy Brown and Margaret I. Touchton Brown. Margaret loved children and teaching was one of her many gifts. She worked for Vigo County School Corporation as a teacher, counselor, attendance officer and children&#8217;s advocate for 27 years. She was nominated teacher of the year twice and was awarded attendance officer of the year for the state of Indiana. She worked diligently with a taskforce to prevent child abuse during her years with the school corporation and had a special love for all of her students, but especially the wilted child.</description>

She went on to nursing school, and graduated from the Union Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Walter Bond in Clay City, for 25 years. She and her late husband, Max Pierce owned and operated the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City for 24 years before selling the business in 1979.  </description>
