Diane V. Marancik
Diane V. Marancik, 60, of Terre Haute, died Nov. 7, 2009, surrounded by her four children, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, in Fort Wayne. She was born Diane Elizabeth Vose, on July 18, 1949, to Roger and Elizabeth “Betty” Vose, in Harvard, Ill. She graduated from Purdue University in 1971. Professionally, she was a teacher, humor columnist, wood stripper, social worker, and choral director. But it was in her life as a daughter, sister, mom, grandma, and friend, that she truly excelled. She will be remembered for her immeasurable strength, wisdom, humor, loyalty, compassion for the disabled, appreciation of the ridiculous, ability to find a song for every occasion, and the impulse to sing it.
She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Phil and Gary Vose; four children, Katey Marancik, Blake Marancik, Abby Treesh and Alison Marancik; and two grandchildren, Conner Treesh and Charlie Walsh.
