Donald W. Carrico
Donald W. Carrico, 90, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Staunton, Ind., died Nov. 5, 2009. He was a retired ISU employee, World War II veteran, and graduate of Staunton High School class of 1937, where he was a star athlete. Mr. Carrico was called to service in the infantry and military police on Dec. 29, 1941, and honorably discharged in January 1946. He was also a Deacon and Trustee of the former Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Donald was the beloved husband of Pauline for 68 years; dedicated father of Donna Carrico Staats and her husband Michael; devoted Grampy to granddaughter Dr. Natalie Staats Reiss and husband Michael, and granddaughter, Nicole Staats Polsky and husband Ethan. He was also the much loved great-grandfather to McKenna Emerson and Aidan Michael Reiss.
Private graveside services will be conducted Monday. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. today in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
