Ellen Jean Green

Ellen Jean Green, 54, formerly of West Terre Haute and Brazil, and currently of Terre Haute, passed away at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Nov. 3, 2009 at 6:43 p.m. following a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. She was born in Brazil, Ind., Sept. 8, 1955, to John William “Bill” and Doris Evelyn (Bond) Green.

Ellen graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1974. Following high school she joined the Air National Guard. She was a member of the Active Guard Reserve at Hulman Field in Terre Haute. She retired from the military in 1998. In her free time Ellen enjoyed counted cross stitch.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wesley Green and sister, Evelyn Sadler.

Survivors include her sisters, Johna Lumsdon and husband Don of Brazil and Stephanie Peterson and husband Jerry of Terre Haute as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services for Ellen will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in French Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Parkey officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Croy’s Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
