Deborah Ann Sealander Boyd

Deborah Ann Sealander Boyd, was born Oct. 3, 1952, in Escanaba, Mich., the oldest child of Marvin Sealander and Laverne Mathison Sealander. She lived, loved and labored here while navigating this earthly journey. Debbie departed this life on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Union Hospital.

Deborah spent her youthful years traveling about with her parents, her sister, Tina, and two brothers, Matthew and Jeff. She was a bright child, therefore being in a military family and moving about the country did not affect her educational process. She graduated from Arlington High School in Indianapolis, in 1970. She was skilled and worked the majority of her years in Terre Haute, at Westminister Village. She began her career as an aide and became a certified nursing assistant. She retired this year after 27 years as the schedule coordinator. She had a great love and compassion for working with the elderly and was very responsive to those she cared for. She often spoke with compassion of those who had no family. She was affiliated with the Lutheran Church.

Deborah was married for a number of years and to that union two children were born, Anika Rochelle and Jarrod Anthony Michael Boyd. These two children meant the world to her. Her days revolved around them and her beloved grandchildren, Ricco Dewayne, Mallory Kay and Madison Ann. These little ones loved their grandmother unconditionally and will miss her softly spoken words of encouragement. There was nothing Debbie would not do for her children or grandchildren. She would tell them what she thought in one breath and invite them out to eat in the next.

Deborah leaves to cherish her memory and await a great reunion her children, Anika Rochelle Boyd and Jarrod Anthony Michael Boyd and his fiancee Starla Kay Archer; three grandchildren, Ricco Dewayne Spencer Jr., Mallory Kay and Madison Ann Boyd, all of Terre Haute; a sister, Tina Sealander Blyzes of Cape Girardo, Mo.; and two brothers, Matthew Sealander of Pittsburgh, and Jeff Sealander of Orlando, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

There will be a celebration of Debbie’s life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St.
