Richard Lee Pruitt

Richard Lee Pruitt, 62, of St. Mary-of-the-Woods, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Monday Nov. 2, 2009, in his residence. He had been employed with Roger and Kevin Maher Contractors for over 30 years. He was born on Sept. 12, 1947, in Terre Haute, to Elbert Pruitt and Evelyn Wells Pruitt.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Wright Pruitt, whom he married June 11, 1967, in Terre Haute; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Amanda Pruitt of Shephardsville; a daughter, Lori Hendricks of West Terre Haute; two sisters, Roxie Ziglar and her husband Dave, and Dixie Price and her husband Larry; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Connie Pruitt, Jerry and Loretta Pruitt, Steve and Rosie Pruitt, Ronnie and Suzie Pruitt, Danny and Mart Pruitt, and Darrell and Judy Pruitt; a sister-in-law, Gayle Pruitt; a brother-in-law, Hans Collins; five grandchildren, Sean Hendricks, Shane Pruitt, Katlyn Pruitt, Brittany Pruitt and Richy Pruitt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marion Pruitt; and a sister, Eileen Collins.

He loved playing his guitar and spending time with family.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with Pastor Bradley Potter officiating. Burial is in Pleasantview Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to services on Saturday.
