Roberta ‘Bert’ Stewart

DANA — Roberta “Bert” Stewart went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. She was born Oct. 16, 1937, to James Hardman and Ethel Wallace Hardman Klusner. She was a retired nurse from Vermillion Convalescent Center. After retiring she owned and operated “Granny’s” inside Billie Creek Village in Rockville. She was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed reading her Bible, crafts, and her family, most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who fondly called her “Granny”. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Clinton.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathy and Randy Petrin of Dana, Karen and Larry Jenkins of Rosedale, and Kim and Kevin Ross of Rockville; two sons, Thad Dale and Laura Stewart of Rochester; and Tom and Tari Stewart of Dana; sisters, Beverly Falls of Mecca, Ethel Canaday and Wanda Pointer, both of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Dawn Petrin Miller, Amanda Petrin Shell, Larry and Shane Jenkins, and Shelly Rector, Kevin, Sara and Kelsie Ross, Thad Dale and Charlie Stewart, Carrie Bergman, and Katie, Billy and Lindsey Stewart; 17 great-grandchildren; Uncle Chet and Jenette Wallace; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Joe Klusner; one granddaughter, Robyn Gail Petrin Blair, who passed away unexpectedly in her sleep just hours prior to her Granny’s passing; two brothers, Richard and Robert Hardman; and one sister, Barbara Livingston.

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., in Clinton, with the Rev. Larry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.
