Ardella LeJean (Yates) Barclay Jeffers
Ardella LeJean (Yates) Barclay Jeffers, 71, of Terre Haute, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 17, 2009, in Southwood Health & Rehabilitation Center. She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Westminster Village, and also was a cook with the Vigo County School Corporation. She was born March 14, 1938, in Terre Haute, to Doris Yates and Imogene Smith Yates.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Bedwell and her husband Steve of Centerpoint, Barbara McElroy and her husband Ron of Terre Haute, and Laura Jeffers of Florida; two sons, Dwayne Barclay of Terre Haute and Terry Jeffers and his wife Jennifer of Tennessee; a brother, Marvin Yates and his wife Beverly of Staunton; a sister, Reta Hoopingarner of Terre Haute; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Herbert Barclay and Kevin Barclay; and a grandson, Michael Hayne.
Ardella attended Centerpoint United Methodist Church. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to VistaCare Hospice and Southwood for the loving care given to their mother.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with the Rev. Myron James officiating. Burial will be in Centerpoint Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice Foundation, 3401 South 4th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
